PhD students


Ari Thompson: Ari got her BS in Chemistry from Idaho State University in June 2020 and joined the lab in April 2021. Her research, in collaboration with Idaho National Lab, focuses on the production of propylene from propane using ALD-modified catalysts. She is jointly advised by Dr. Rebecca Fushimi.








Tyn Phung: Tyn has been working in the lab since 2019, when she was an undergraduate student at OSU! She got her BS in 2022 and she then worked at our startup, Renewcat, INC., for a year. She then came back in September 2023 to start her PhD at Oregon State University. Outside the lab, she likes to write poetry.


Artur Spiridonov: Artur got his Specialist Degree in Chemistry from Kazan Federal University, where he conducted research in the Laboratory of Sorption and Catalytic Processes. He joined the group in June 2024 as a PhD student after working in the industry, producing and supplying chemical agents for various applications. He is currently working on the PVC catalytic upcycling project.



Undergraduate students

Makayla Vu: Makayla is a senior in Chemical Engineering at Oregon State. She joined the lab in June 2020 and is working on PVC upcycling.
Nathan Faust: Nathan is a senior in Chemical Engineering at Oregon State. He joined the lab in September 2023 and is working on catalysis for automotive emission control.
Brisa Sabel: Brisa is a senior in Chemical Engineering at Oregon State. She joined the lab in April 2024 and is working on propylene oxidation to acrolein.
